A place to call home
The Wakita CHC was built in partnership with the OU Medical School as a model rural health project. It was featured in TIME magazine when it opened its doors in 1968. The CHC is served weekly and on demand by specialists from St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center and Integris Bass Baptist hospitals in nearby Enid, Oklahoma. The center offers a skilled nursing home, therapy and rehab services.
Our center serves north-central Oklahoma and beyond including the communities of Cherokee, Medford, Nash, Pond Creek, Alva, and Enid. As well as communities in Kansas such as Medicine Lodge, Anthony, Harper, Caldwell and Kiowa.
Additional information on our center can be found on our ‘Ten questions you should ask about our nursing home‘ page.
Our mission is to maximize our resident’s independence while providing a safe environment and to strive for excellence in care.
Our vision is to create an environment where residents can have an abundance of life, be well cared for in body and spirit, have meaningful relationships with others, and participate as able with family members and caregivers in decisions affecting their care.
Our strength is our uncompromising commitment to provide the highest quality of care to our residents in a home-like environment. Our staff shares a passion for the people we serve and are extremely proud of our home.
Our values include honesty, integrity, and providing outstanding personalized care to our residents. CHC strives to not only meet, but to exceed the expectations of the people we serve.
Our focus is to provide a home-like environment for all our residents where privacy is respected and independence is supported.
“Caring, Sharing, Loving, Giving….It’s What We Do!!!”
